Stroll arm in arm down South Congress, from Barton Springs Road to Elizabeth Street, at First Thursday on South Congress. On the first Thursday of every month, the block is taken over by live music, craft vendors, and food. Most of the businesses on the strip do something special for the event with sales, drink specials, and discounts. People-watch and then have a drink on the beautiful courtyard of the Hotel San Jose afterward. This is a great opportunity to get to know your date by talking to each other and having fun together in the beautiful city of Austin.


Horse Carriage Ride

Take a hint from the romance movies and take your date on a horse carriage ride through the city. There are multiple companies offering carriage rides in Austin, including Austin Carriage and Rose Carriage, among others. You can sightsee, learn local history, and cozy up close together in the carriage. You’ll feel like you’re in a fairytale, and the mood will be set for the rest of the evening. Follow the carriage ride up with a nice dinner at one of the previous mentioned restaurants for a night of memories.
